RE: Good Sams or AAA

Just switched from AAA to Good Sam ERS last month due to price and the fact that AAA is not geared with their providers toward RVs as much as much as GS ERS. Have had AAA Plus for many years and was a hard to decide to switch even tho I have only needed the service once.

RE: What 5th wheel hitch do you have and how do you like it?

Reese Signature series 18k slider, I like it because it does not have any rails in the bed when hitch is removed.

When to use tow/haul mode

Have a 07 1/2 Dodge 2500 with 6.7 ctd auto and just wondering when everyone else uses the tow/haul mode when towing. With the exaust brake on and in tow/haul it really has some hard down shifts and didn't know if this is hard on it or not. So question is do you use the tow/haul any time you are pulling a trailer? Trailer is a 12k lb. 5th wheel.

RE: Short Bed Dodge and 5ers? Removable slider hitches?

I use the Reese Signature 18k slider underbed mounted and to remove just pull a couple of release arms, lift hitch out and just have 4 mounting pucks in floor of bed, no rails. it is kind of heavy tho. I either use 2 people, hoist or front end loader to remove.

RE: Walking on Roof

I walk on my heatland 5r roof to clean don't know how you could get a 1/2 a sheet of plywood on the roof, to many items sticking up ( 3 vent,, 2 sewer vents, skylight, tv antenna, air conditioner ect) Afraid trying to move a sheet of plywood would do more damage than good.

RE: 2009 Sundance by Heartland any problems?

We bought a 08 Sundance in april and has been pretty good so far other than a leak the first time we towed in the rain. We think it was a seal under the slide and was allowing water from tires to enter the floor to the rear of slide. You might want to check the heartland web site and look in the sundance forum.

RE: Where to get bedsaver

Looks like it will be tweety's sine none of the others I emailed asking if they could get the BXR4105 (this is a new product for blue ox)even knew about it or offerd to get it. The Reese Signature will not take the bedsaver that eveyone has directed me to.
Up until just recently blue ox did not make one for this hitch.

RE: Opinion on 5th wheel trailers

Have had our Sundance 3300sk since april of this year and so far very happy. For the money and how it is built (15k AC,6k axles,16"alum wheels,I beam frame, ect.) I feel its alot of trailer.

RE: In Bed 7 pin connector question

Thats the way I did mine, can plug into bed or bumper but I wouldn't try plugging a trailer into both at the same time. Somtimes I use the bumper when I don't want to climb into the bed if I have my bed cover on the truck.

Thanks, I went back up and put some thin rubber strips between the vent and roof, thought about that after I posted.

RE: 7 pin in bed connector-need some help please

Don't about yours, the one I bought had a tee plug on the end that plugs to the truck and all I had to do was unplug the one at the truck bumper and the other into the knew harness so you have the use of both inbed and bumper receptical. Don't make the mistake I did by putting the inbed receptical near the cab of the truck If I was to do over again I would put to the rear just inside the tailgate. The reasons are, able the reach easier, able to leave pluged in until truck is away from camper when unhooking and if you have a tri-fold cover on the bed as I do to hard if not impossible to plug in or unplug.

Roof vent install question

Just bought pair of Ramble vent covers at CW yesterday and have a question as to whether they should be touching the rubber roof when installed. Due to the arch of the roof they touch in the center and not on the sides and didn't know if vibation would cut into the rubber roof where the vents touch in the center.

5r, roof cut/scuff fix

While installing vent covers this evening I noticed a small cut/scuff on the roof of my 08 Sundance at near the side edge. It is not all the way thru and trying to figure out what should I use to put on it.

RE: Firestone air bags

I have the Firestone 5000 lb bags with tee fitting in line so one fill valve and a compressor 12volt in the front compartment of the 5r they don't leak and only take a minute to fill. On board compressor would be nice but for the money I think I will keep it the way it is.

RE: mileage with a diesel

I get between 10 to 13.5 mpg pulling a 12k lb 12'heigh 5r with my 07 1/2 Dodge 6.7, 6 speed auto and 410 gears as long as I stay around 60 to 65 mph. Can safely pull 800 miles due to the added 40 gal in bed tank and my stock 34 gal tank. Saves me having to get fuel with 5r in tow or allows me to buy when prices are lower.
